“I’m thinking. I’m thinking of all the times on the Enterprise when I was scared to death and I would see you so busy at your command, and I would hear your voice from all parts of the ship, and my fears would fade. And now they’re making me tremble, but I’m not afraid. I am not… afraid.” – Lieutenant Uhura

This Special Edition piece was requested by Nichelle Nichols herself as a centre-piece to her Farewell Convention planned for 2020.  It beautifully captures this important moment in television history, that came only a year after the Supreme Court declared interracial marriage legal.  Dubbed by NBC News as “the kiss heard around the galaxy”, this moment suggested to a nation still grappling with issues of racial inequalities and civil rights “that there was a future where these issues were not such a big deal,” said Eric Deggans (national television critic for National Public Radio). Deggans said, “The characters themselves were not freaking out because a black woman was kissing a white man…. In this utopian-like future, we solved this issue. We’re beyond it. That was a wonderful message to send.”  The kiss is a powerful tribute to Nichelle Nichols’ and William Shatner’s legacy, still carrying weight today.

Nichelle herself has added one of these prints to her personal collection.  There are only 50 prints in this Limited Edition run!

This is NOT a mass-produced poster, but an artist signed, Limited Edition Archival Fine Art Print.  The museum quality of paper and inks are readily recognizable when viewing the piece.  It also comes with a signed Certificate of Authentication.  This piece has been approved by both Nichelle Nichols and William Shatner themselves, as well as CBS, and is a Collector Item.
